Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior, Governor of Paraná, announced a R$ 13.8 million investment package for innovation projects in municipalities. Coordinated by the State Secretariat for Innovation, Modernization, and Digital Transformation (Sei), the initiatives involve using digital databases to connect municipalities with investors, creating coworking spaces, purchasing accessibility equipment for visually impaired individuals, and installing multisensory rooms for autistic children.
Ratinho Junior highlighted Paraná's recognition as Brazil's most innovative state by Bright Cities for two consecutive years, emphasizing that these investments enhance public services and prepare municipalities for a technological future.
State Secretary Marcelo Rangel stated that these investments help boost various public sector initiatives, offering more efficient services and opportunities for youth, seniors, children, and people with disabilities.
The largest share of the announced investment, R$ 5.4 million, is allocated for purchasing 100 smart tactile displays, which convert visual content into braille in real-time. These devices will be provided by the Education Department in pedagogical support centers and multifunctional resource rooms.
Additionally, R$ 2 million will be allocated for installing multisensory rooms for autistic children and adolescents or those with other neurological disorders in ten municipalities. This funding will be used for purchasing equipment and materials, installation services, assembly, and team training.
About R$ 4.9 million is being invested by SEI and Invest Paraná to promote private investment in 64 cities as part of the first phase of a digital transformation project for Paraná's municipalities. The initiative involves acquiring software licenses to structure and analyze public databases to assist entrepreneurs interested in investing in the municipalities.
Another initiative is the creation of coworking spaces open to the community in ten municipalities, with a total investment of R$ 15 million from the State Government. The first will be installed in Paranaguá, aiming to provide access to technologies conducive to developing prototypes and modeling innovative products.
